Message from Medjugorje

Our Lady's Message on 25 February, 2006

"Dear children! In this Lenten time of grace, I call you to open your hearts to the gifts that God desires to give you. Do not be closed, but with prayer and renunciation say yes to God and He will give to you in abundance. As in springtime the earth opens to the seed and yields a hundredfold, so also your heavenly Father will give to you in abundance. I am with you and love you, little children, with a tender love. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Michael,

Thank you for your thoughts.

I've only got one thing to say. I think it's a total absurdity - Satan caused the 'apparitions' and spoke messages of love to bring Christians back to God??? And Satan's the one who told the visionaries to let the whole world know that this is the time of mercy, and encouraged Christians to repent from their sins?? It is Satan who asked Christians [Catholics] to pray more and to read the Bible? Wow... this Satan must be a 'convert'!

I don't remember Our Lady saying that all religions are equally valid ways to approach God. Can you show me which one?

I don't know where you got all the news about the situation of the Medjugorje visionaries, but I will find out if what you said are true.

And I only know about one thing, that Medjugorje has led many back to God. Jesus ever said that those who are not against us are for us. I didn't find any messages by Our Lady in Medjugorje that is anti-Christ, and instead, Her messages have also helped me grow to love God more.

Still, what you pointed out are not enough to prove that it is Satan's handiwork. Even Pope John Paul II expressed his love for Medjugorje (would you say that he is wrong too?)

Audrey,
Thank you for your persistence in pushing back on non-believers. Did you ever find information that contradicts the accusations that the seers 'live in mansions, drive BMW's, is married to a beauty queen'? I received an email from a friend that says the same thing and I would like to show him how it is inaccurate.

Dear Anon,

Thank you for dropping by, and God bless your desire to convince your friend of the inaccuracy of the email.

I guess you must have read Michael's comment and my reply. No, I did not find any information that contradicts the accusations, in fact, I also received emails saying the same thing. However, I have not heard of any complaints by friends who have been to Medjugorje personally. All of them came back with awe and spirit filled.

Firstly, I would like you to think about this, an experience I had:

I met a priest who was an excellent preacher. During every Mass, he got the message of God across to the congregation without fail. His homilies strongly impacted those who came for Mass, including me. He was my 'hero' (of some sort) as his words gave me some push in life. However, things started to change when I accidentally heard a conversation revealling that the priest was "talk only, no action." I then started calling him a lier and hypocrite; I tried my best to stay away from him and not to believe whatever he said. I was very angry with him and I no longer trust him. I hated him so much that I almost wanted to reveal who he really was on my blog, until a friend gave me a call. This was what she said to me, "Speaking God's words/messages (in a homily) to us is his duty given by God. It is his job. Not practising what he preach is his choice and it involves his personal relationship with God. It is not us to judge..."

It does make sense, doesn't it?

The same goes to the visionaries in Medjugorje. God may have chosen them to receive Our Lady's messages so that they can spread them to every part of the world. But they still have the freedom to choose their own ways of life, and it is not for us to judge. Therefore, we cannot compare them to St. Bernadette or Sr. Lucia, as the two saints chose a life of total dedication and simplicity to serve Him.

As the apparitions in Medjugorje are not yet approved by the Vatican, you can choose to believe or not to. If you chose to believe it, do not take the messages as they are, instead contemplate on them and make sure that they don't contradict with the nature of God and the role of Mary... also not forgetting to look at the fruits these messages have bear.

Thank you and God bless!
